Excited to join the brilliant TalentNet Panel: Craig Fisher, Matt Charney, Marianthe Verver, and Crystal Miller next Tuesday, along with my co-guest, the brilliant (and fellow legal eagle) Heather Bussing of Bussing Law for Talentnet’s weekly radio show!
Seems recruiting has been in the news a lot lately; and not exactly for all the right reasons. From Petrino and the Arkansas Razorbacks to Thompson & Yahoo – there’s been some bad judgement calls in hiring lately. Some, like lying on your resume as Thompson did… easy to understand. But others, like hiring someone you have a personal relationship w/ over other applicants you don’t – for some, that seems like more of a ‘shade of gray.’ But with both situations, there’s been an echoed question in the business/hr what does it matter, how does it affect the employees that are still here and how do we change it to protect not just ourselves legally, but to guard our brand’s reputation & culture as well?
